Science and Innovation Reinvestment Act (MOSIRA)

HB1511 was filed by Representative Tim Flook January 12, 2010, with 55 co-sponsors and has been heard. It establishes the Missouri Science and Innovation Reinvestment Act (MOSIRA) and clearly identifies programs for capital formation (similar to Grow Me State Initiative) as the target for accumulative funding.

SB 895 was filed by Senator Dempsey February 4, 2010, with 12 co-sponsors. It establishes the Missouri Science and Innovation Reinvestment Act (MOSIRA) and clearly identifies programs for capital formation (similar to Grow Me State Initiative) as the target for accumulative funding.

SB 895 will be heard in the Senate Jobs and Economic Development Committee on Wednesday, February 17 and 1 pm. Please pressure the committee members before this hearing date, so they understand the wide support of this legislation. The members of the committee include: Senator John Griesheimer, Tom Dempsey, Jack Goodman, Jim Lembke, David Pearce, Luann Ridgeway, Eric Schmitt, Victor Callahan, Ryan McKenna, and Wes Shoemyer. Of those, Griesheimer, Dempsey, Ridgeway, Callahan and Shoemeyer are all co-sponsors of SB 895 - please express appreciation for their early support.

Grow Me State Initiative (GMS)

HB1512 was filed by Representative Tim Flook January 19, 2010, with 52 co-sponsors. It establishes all the provisions of the Grow Me State Initiative bill, including the Seed Capital Technology Business Finance Program Act and the Proof of Concept Technology Business Finance Program Act and authorizes tax credits for investments in technology-based early state Missouri companies; and has been heard.

SB 802 was filed by Senator Eric Schmidt February 3, 2010. This establishes the Proof of Concept Business Finance Program; and has been heard.
